Shambhavi Naik is the Chairperson of the Advanced Biology programme and Director at CloudKrate Solutions Private Limited. She is an expert associate at the National Security College, Australian National University and external affiliate of Centre for Global Science and Epistemic Justice, University of Kent. Her research cover the governance of emerging biotechnologies for bioeconomy and biosecurity. She co-chaired a taskforce on meeting sustainable development goals as a part of T20, an official engagement group of the G20 during India's G20 Presidency.

In 2024, she was drafted on a global expert panel of the International Science Council to provide recommendations to the Biological Weapons Convention. She has previously been involved as a drafting committee member for India's risk assessment of genetically modified crops and worked with the Rajya Sabha Parliamentary committee on strengthening the DNA Profiling Bill. 

Shambhavi has a PhD in Cancer Biology from the University of Leicester, UK and over 3 years of experience as a Postdoctoral Fellow at NCBS and InStem, Bangalore. She has a PGP in Public Policy from the Takshashila Institution.
